John William Macy

Born July 25, 1886

Died May 17, 1890

John William Macy was the son of John Winchester Macy.  John William served as Judge of the Randolph Circuit Court from 1939 to December 31, 1966, when he retired at the age of 80.  He was a graduate of Wabash College and Joined the practice of law with his father in 1909. His father served as Randolph Circuit Court Judge from 1901 to 1908.  After his father's death, John worked in partnership with Alonzo Bales and Alonzo Nichols, both were Randolph County Judges, James P. Goodrich, later Governor of Indiana, and Pierre F. Goodrich, son of James Goodrich. John was elected to five six-year terms as Randolph Circuit Court Judge and was only opposed on two occasions in general elections.
